ISM Manufacturing Index: The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index moved down 1.7 points month on month (m/m) to 55.4 for April 2022; this value is stronger than the forecast of 50.  The new orders sub-index scored a 53.5. Overall, the ISM manufacturing index is strong, while the global economy is beginning to strengthen again following shutdowns throughout Covid-19.

ISM Non-Manufacturing Index: The Institute for Supply Management’s non-manufacturing index increased by 1.8 points month on month (3.2% m/m) to 58.3 in March 2022.
ISM Manufacturing Index: The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index moved down 1.5 points month on month (m/m) to 57.1 for March 2022; this value is stronger than the forecast of 50.  The new orders sub-index scored a 53.8. Overall, the ISM manufacturing index is strong, while the global economy is beginning to strengthen again following shutdowns throughout Covid-19.

March 2022

U.S. Manufacturing Capacity Utilization: Manufacturing capacity utilization (MCU) reached 77.95% in February 2022, up 1.13% month on month (m/m). On a year on year (y/y) comparison, the MCU was a modest +7.11%.
ISM Non-Manufacturing Index: The Institute for Supply Management’s non-manufacturing index decreased by 3.4 points month on month (-5.7% m/m) to 56.5 in February 2022.
ISM Manufacturing Index: The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index moved up 1.0 points month on month (m/m) to 58.6 for February 2022; this value is stronger than the forecast of 50.  The new orders sub-index scored a 61.7. Overall, the ISM manufacturing index is strong, while the global economy is beginning to strengthen again following shutdowns throughout Covid-19.
