December 2021

U.S. Steel Merchant Final Imports: Final merchant imports to the U.S. came in at 46,783 tons in October 2021, decreasing 1% month over month (m/m). When looking at the current year, we see that imports reached their peak last month at 47,282 tons.
U.S. Fabricated Beam Final Imports: Final fabricated beam imports to the U.S. came in at 57,408 tons in October 2021, increasing 2% month over month (m/m). Mexico was the largest exporter of fabricated beams to the U.S. with 16,446 tons (29% of the total).
U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports: Final beam imports to the U.S. came in at 14,533 tons for October 2021, down 38% since last month. Mexico was the largest exporter of beams to the U.S. with 6,673 tons this month (46% of the total).
­­U.S. Steel Capacity Utilization: The total tonnage for the week ending November 27th was 1.837 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 83.2%. The year-to-date tonnage output is 86.953 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization rate of 81.1%. In 2020, the same output total was 72.393 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization of 66.6%.

November 2021

U.S. Steel Capacity Utilization: The total tonnage for the week ending October 30th was 1.860 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 84.3%. The year-to-date tonnage output is 79.558 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization rate of 80.8%. In 2020, the same output total was 66.097 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization of 66.2%.

October 2021

­­U.S. Steel Capacity Utilization: The total tonnage for the week ending September 25th was 1.880 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 85.2%. The year-to-date tonnage output is 70.216 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization rate of 80.3%. In 2020, the same output total was 58.477 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization of 65.8%.
