U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports: Final beam imports to the U.S. came in at 24,028 tons for November 2022, down 59% since last month. South Korea was the largest exporter of beams with 12,987 tons this month (54%). The Columbia-Snake, OR port was the largest receiver of beams this month, receiving 11,522 tons.
U.S. Capacity Utilization was 80.1% in September, up 0.3% month on month (m/m). On a year on year (y/y) comparison, the capacity utilization was a modest +2.63%.
U.S. Steel Capacity Utilization: The total tonnage for the week ending December 31st was 1.602 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 71.8%. The year-to-date tonnage output is 91.632 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization rate of 78.6%. In 2021, the same output total was 94.185 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization of 81.2%.

U.S. Steel Capacity Utilization: The total tonnage for the week ending November 26th was 1.625 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 72.8%. The year-to-date tonnage output is 83.524 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization rate of 79.1%. In 2021, the same output total was 86.953 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization of 81.1%.

U.S. Steel Capacity Utilization: The total tonnage for the week ending October 29th was 1.663 million net tons, at a capacity utilization rate of 74.5%. The year-to-date tonnage output is 76.986 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization rate of 79.7%. In 2021, the same output total was 79.558 million net tons, at an average capacity utilization of 80.8%.

U.S. Steel Rebar Final Imports: Final rebar imports to the U.S. came in at 115,213 tons for the month of August 2022, down 26% m/m. Turkey was the largest exporter of rebar with 58,718 tons this month (51%). The Houston-Galveston, TX port was the largest receiver of rebar this month, receiving 44,458 tons.
