SBQ final imports to the U.S. were down 13.6% in 2018, year on year (y/y), totaling 281,667 tons YTD ending July 2018. July 2018 SBQ final imports came in at tons, 39,042 or 3.6% lower than the 40,478 tons in June.

Beam final imports to the U.S. were down 17.4% in 2018, year on year (y/y), totaling 284,039 tons YTD ending July 2018.

Rebar final imports to the U.S. were down 31.5% in 2018, year on year (y/y), totaling 811,809 tons YTD ending July 2018. July 2018 Rebar final imports came in at 150,874 tons, significantly higher than the 47,953 tons in June.

Worldsteel Association (WSA) reports that global crude steel production totaled 151.4 million tonnes (Mt) at a capacity utilization rate, (CUR) of 78.5% in June.
