US Fabricated Beams Final Imports

U.S. Fabricated Beam Final Imports: Fabricated beam final imports to the U.S. were up 43% m/m in June 2020, and up 17% y/y, coming in at 41,885 tons. 

Figure 1 breaks down total fabricated beam final imports from January 2019 – June 2020. When looking at the current year, it shows that fabricated beam imports reached their peak this month. 

Figure 2 also charts the largest exporting countries in rank order for March 2019 – June 2020. Canada was the largest exporter of fabricated beams with 12,038 tons in June. Mexico was the second-largest exporter 9,847 with tons. Turkey was the third-largest exporter of fabricated beams to the U.S. with 8,060 tons. Together these three exporters accounted for 71% of total fabricated beam imports.

Figure 3 also charts the largest imports by district of entry to the U.S. in rank order through June. Houston-Galveston, TX was the largest receiver of fabricated beams in June 2020, receiving 9,401 tons. St. Albans, VT was the second-largest district of entry, coming in at 6,554 tons. Laredo, TX was the third-highest receiver with 5,855 tons. Together these three districts of entry accounted for 52% of the total imports.
